It is the standard first-line imaging investigation for neck pain, cervical spondylosis, stiffness after injury, and numbness or tingling radiating into the arms. What Happens During a Cervical Spine X-Ray? (Under 10 Minutes)

Step 2 — Positioning: Multiple views are taken. For the AP (Anteroposterior) view, you face the imaging plate. For the Lateral view, you stand sideways. For the oblique views (to assess nerve exit points), you turn at an angle. The radiographer guides each position.
Step 3 — The X-Ray: Each exposure is instantaneous — you will feel nothing. You may be asked to hold still and avoid swallowing briefly during each view.
