Your Annual Health Check-up: What to Include at Every Age
- Health packages
- Age groups
- Screening

An annual check-up is not one-size-fits-all. Age, sex, family history, and lifestyle change which tests add the most value. The goal is a repeatable panel you can compare year after year, not the longest possible list every time.
For many adults, a sensible core includes a complete blood count, fasting or HbA1c for glucose status, a lipid profile, kidney and liver chemistries, thyroid function when indicated, and vitamin D or B12 if deficiency is suspected.
Imaging and cardiology tests such as chest X-ray, ECG, and ultrasound are added based on symptoms or risk, not automatically every year. Your doctor may recommend mammography, bone density, or faecal occult blood testing on a schedule aligned with guidelines.
Before your appointment, list all medications and supplements; some affect INR, thyroid tests, or electrolytes. Fasting requirements vary by package, so confirm when you book.
After results arrive, schedule a review visit to translate numbers into actions: diet, exercise, medication, or specialist referral. Prevention is a loop, not a one-off event.
